  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Busy Bee lathe DF-1237G motor?

@grease monkey I pulled the crossslide gib after dinner.
It's shaped like a parallelogram as would be expected.
It is 13-5/8" long
It is .411" tall when sitting as it would be installed as shown in the picture.
The thick end (nearest the operator when installed) is .357"
The thin end is .198"

so that relief I see is where the set screw rests correct? the other end the screw comes to rest directly at the end of the gib? I cant imagine that by the time the taper comes to the end, there's much material left for a set screw relief... so a piece of material 1/2" sq 16" long will be plenty, give me somewhere to clamp and then cut to length when done

ok, dura bar on its way from Terra Nova in MIssga, 3/4" x 1" @ 15" long equals 5 big greasy 3 pattie burgers! wow! better not screw this up!! $113 later and it just so happens to be on its way to a local tool shop, nice to have friends with connections, they happen to have a driver headed to terra nova for an order for them, he offered for my order to tag along with them! Thanks to Tim at West Tool in St T!! I think its time to look into a surface grinder.... Keith Rucker's video was great, I'll machine this down to size, and go from there, hopefully have this running for the M&G!!
