I'm wondering if there is confusion between KBC and KMS. KBC sells Mitutoyo surface plates. I used to cross name them all the time.

+1 - I wondered exactly the same thing and STILL routinely cross name them. I'll never learn.....

What's weird is KBC shows stock on certain items. I recall the heavy shipping surcharge made it significantly more than the BB. You can buy these at Skinner & DMH as well, then just pick up yourself.

too small for anything other than a lapping plate. *My first surface plate was one of these* just too small for even small measuring. With a height gauge and a few other things there is no room to work. The BB ones are the minimum size. I have 2 of them and they work well.

Keep ypur eyes out on Facebook marketplace and kijiji for plates, the come up in waves. $2000.00 plates for $200.00 some in great shape some junk.
