Better drill press vise?

Well scratch the smoking deal on the Acme rod. The shipping was under-quoted by $85.
Plan B is 3ft of 12/-10 Acme from Fastener Force for $16.
 
The 12ft for $42 (plus taxes and $15 shipping) was Bolt Supply in Langley. Original shipping didn't account for the length though.
Seems like there's a 50% markup to cut it into 3ft pieces.
