Anvil...Forge...

Speaking of new anvils, has anyone actually tested the Edmonton Blacksmith Shop 290 lbs anvil? Wondering how it compares to the old ones since the price seems to be the same.

I am thinking of building a propane forge and foundry using ceramic fiber blanket coated with ICT 100. How long would the blanket last up to an oxy acetylene heating torch fueled by propane without a layer of refractory cement in front of the ceramic fiber?

In case anyone is interested Quality tools on 52 st se (just south of 17th ave) has a small hand cranked forge around 18" dia for $225.00 or to check out the construction of it.
