A new member was asking me about Acronyms.... I have

HD home depot. PA is princess auto. HF is harbor freight.

EM is end mill.

So... , as the OP on this, are you gunna put all this together in your first post so it's useful to a newbie?

And keep track of new suggestions and update the list forever?

Bet you wish you never opened this can of worms......

I'm just kidding @Janger . Nonetheless, it is a useful insight into the other discussion we were having about databases.

I always thought that ER stood for "extended range" . ER40 collets have a grip range of 1mm or nearly .040" so if you have a full set of metric ER40 collets there are no gaps in the gripping range. Maybe I have been wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

That was always what I thought too. How the heck does anyone get "eccentric" out of those things. Other than the eccentric guy who started that line of products that is....

I know what the other Acronyms are. RCH etc go back to when I was a young man, and they really are..... Ask me how I know! But what is AVE short for?
