  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

I'd check with your local tool houses...or wholesale equipment suppliers...
Shit...even crackbook MP, I've seen them.
Some yokel here in Kelowna is trying to flog an inground hydraulic post...for the princely sum of 200 bucks.
He can keep it...I imagine the prep to install it would be insanely spendy

Next up are the axles and new timing belt. Then I can put the front end back on the ground and do the rear suspension.
Then tackle the interior.

apparently you've never read the slogan... "if it ain't red, leave it in the shed"! but then again, I'm an Allis fan anyway, so there You go! I am a sucker for a v8 diesel powered tractor, something about that v8 sound under load... like the Massey big guns, or the Oliver 2255
that was part of the joke but anyway

we have some stubborn JD fan boys that make it fun to take the mickey out of

And agreed, old massey, oliver, Allis, farmall etc iron is sweet, some people even appreciate old internationals

@grease monkey - I believe the original saying was - "If it's red, leave it in the shed."

I like - "Nothing runs like a Deere."

But there are conflicting versions of which came first, if it's red or if it ain't red. Pick your poison I guess.

I love my green tractors.

Something is amiss with the new clutch.
Got it all bolted back in.
When I was reinstalling the axle drive flanges in the transmission I put the transmission into 5th gear thinking that would give the most resistance so I could torque the cap screws down.
I was able to turn the drive flanges with the ratchet which seemed odd to me. I expected it to be locked solid.
I pulled the slave cylinder thinking maybe it was partially disengaging the clutch. No difference.
There is free play on the clutch fork so it would seem the pressure plate is fully released.
Only thing I can think is that maybe I installed the friction disk facing the wrong way.

Usually they have "flywheel side" stamped on them.
Does actuating the clutch feel normal?

Thinking about this more I think what's happening is that I'm turning the differential. There aren't any axles connected so I don't have an easy way to stop the other side from turning.
I'll put the driver side axle in tomorrow. That way I can stick a screwdriver into the brake rotor slot to stop that side from turning while I try and turn the other side.
