Tool I got a new Canadian anvil!

Ok it's not really new, it's between 110 and 112 years old, but it's new to me. My nephew brought it by for me today. He aquired it and it had a chunk missing from the heel so he chopped it off, milled the top steel plate smooth again and gave it a paint job. I figure it looks pretty good...

Used and abused Robin bench vise

I have an old 5 inch "Robin" made in Canada 5" bench vise that has had a very hard life. I'd like to fix it to a useable state as it was a really nice made vise with a totally enclosed spindle/screw with cast bronze internal acme thread for the screw which still seems very smooth. Every part...

Help my decroded brain with some math

I'm wanting to cut some 60 degree dovetail grooves in an air rifle barrel to accept a front site. I'm having trouble with figuring out the math in order to cut them correctly. Maybe my childish drawing might help to convey what I'm trying to achieve. I think I have to use the cosign of 30...

    Stupid things I have done

Maybe there might be the odd person that might avoid the same mistake by reading about my stupid moment. For many, many years I would warm up a paint spray can by placing it in between the louvers of my overhead furnace. I had done this many times. My garage is kept just above freezing at all...

    Happy thanks giving everyone.

I hope every has time to this weekend to enjoy whatever it is you enjoy. Being cognizant and thankful for what ever we enjoy seems to make us more appreciative of that stuff/state/place/people/etc. that we enjoy! I know I often am thankful and appreciative of my shop and tools. I really enjoy...

    Shop New lean to shop

I know there is alot of building experience here on the forum so I figured I had better ask for opinions on a new shop build. I'm eventually going to build a single slope roof/lean to shop onto an existing large machinery shed. All "plans" are unfixed and subject to change but I'm thinking...
