  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area.     Finally, a Makita battery fix.

    Every time Makita improves their battery technology, they change the way the battery fits to the tool with no backwards compatability. So I have an older circ saw, a recip saw and a couple others and no Makita battery to power them. I've been hesitant to grind away parts of the old tools'...

    Vidmar cabinet

    Picked up a very experienced 9 drawer Vidmar cabinet in Strathmore today. All the drawers are in good condition. The unit is 48" high by 37" wide by 28 deep". I like those deep drawers.

    Water bath knife grinder $75

    This is an old school electric motor powered sharpening machine with water drip cooling and a water bath catch basin. Very rigid and weighs about 70 pounds. The wheel is about 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches wide. $75
