    Tool ER40 collet nut

Hi guys, I have a question about er40 collets. My milling machine has an R8 spindle so I bought an R8-er40 collet off ebay. I stupidly got one of the cheaper sets with collets etc, and when I got it I tried to assemble it with one of the collets and found that I couldn't even get the nut to...

    Oscillation/Vibration in lathe

Have you checked for a loose bearing somewhere in the drive line? They can run smooth at certain rpm's and then start to vibrate as speed increases. (or decreases) Most common with bushing types.

    Tool DRO manual

I purchased a DRO off ebay and the manual was pretty much worthless. The translation from Chinese to English was hilarious. This seems to be a common problem . As well the manual seemed to be for an older software version than what I had. Sent a few emails to the seller and he was very good at...

I was thinking about a retractable cover for the mill. Would have to be some special material that wouldn't wrap swarf into the roller.

    Darren's projects

One of the big plusses I found with the devilbiss was how quiet it ran. Far superior to all the import compressors we see now.

    Darren's projects

I have a Devilbiss just like yours . It was in my auto repair shop when I bought the shop in 1980 and has been working great till now. Recently retired so it doesn't get used like it used to but you should be very happy with your compressor. I think I changed oil in mine 2 times in 40 yrs ( I...

There’s a skunk in my shop!

Good luck with the skunks. Just a tip for you if it comes to "hand -to-hand " combat : Skunks can't spray if you pick them up by the tail. I admit to not verifying this personally, but it makes sense. Let us know if it works.
