  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Calgary Area Meetup is set for Saturday July 12th at 10am. The signup thread is here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. "New" machine day HLV-H

New addition to the shop... Gonna need a lot of elbow grease and head scratching but itll be worth it in the end. Found it as a 220v 3ph which will make it easy, i wont have to mess around with transformers. Now i just need to build a RPC. Needed to happen sooner or later anyway and this is a...

New bench for the shop - finished

In the last house we owned I had the same problem with the rickedy bench I had, always frustrating. Anything big enough to have to be built on the floor was always a bugger too. This particular bench had a fairly wicked twist in the top(learned a lesson when gluing it up). Ended up making a...

Heating a garage - Infrared, innovative or terrible idea?

Just had the wonderful experience of doing the same thing this fall. Bought a different house middle of last summer that had just a detached garage(shop for me), but it wasnt insulated and only had a small subpanel service fed from the house. Not sure if this will work for an attached garage but...

    ISO shaper.

Might be a bit hard to come by with those stipulations in your first post. Cheap or Free. It took quite a few years for me to come across an Atlas 7B over here in Saskatoon at a half descent price, got lucky on that one. My other machines though I had to find outside of the prairies. One from...
