Hey, I'm wanting to do a bit of scraping on my milling machine but am struggling to find any Prussian Blue in Calgary. Does anywhere know where I can find it in Calgary or know of an alternative product that I can use?

They have some at KMS at around $12 per can. I think Busy Bee also has it.

I got some online but its not blue but I think white-ish for about 40% off the KMS price.

KBC can have it delivered to your home in 4 days. ! used Fastenal because I wasn't in a hurry and they were cheaper (then).

Ive usually bought mine from Napa of all places. Permatex is the brand and from what I can find the part # is PER-58835
worth a try...

Good point. That would make sense because its useful for many kinds of mechanical fit-ups. I checked Crappy Tire online because they carry lot of Permatex products, but did not see it there.

Janger and I were talking and he suggested I post this... 'Prussian Blue' as used in the machinery rebuilding and tool and die trades refers to a petroleum carrier paste containing more than 80% particles of ferric ferrocyanide. This is used to take measurements in the order of tenths of thousandths of an inch - primarily for fitting or scraping (there are other uses too).

It is often confused with Layout Blue or Layout Dye, which is often blue in colour and only comes in liquid (bottle or spray) form.

...ferric ferrocyanide....
So I probably should not have been licking my finger tips, that explains the upset tummy -LOL

btw, I'm not sure what is in layout fluid 'remover' (like when you see it $old $eparately under the $ame label as the fluid itself) but I keep a small squirt bottle of ordinary methanol handy for various purposes, mostly basic degreasing. It takes the layout off lickety split. As well as Sharpie marker & other things.
