    Machine PDM30 table nut stripped

The original lead screw had a few rough spots. The "new" part was a coarse as a rasp. Absolutely un-usable and the lead screw nut was piss-wobbly loose also. I stand to be corrected, but, I feel it should turn smoothly but not be able to teeter back and forth.

    Machine PDM30 table nut stripped

It certainly would. This is a 6 month old mill with a 2 year warranty. I am going to give King a chance to make it right before I go spending my money

    Machine PDM30 table nut stripped

I did send an email and CC'd the vice president to let him know how disappointed I was. I did carefully word the email stating my observations and that this was a 6 month old piece of machinery in a hobby shop environment. They will be sending me new pieces, I'm just not sure how long it will...

    Machine PDM30 table nut stripped

UPDATE: I received the new lead screw from King today. All I can say is WOW, QC is slipping, this is as rough as a coarse rasp. I'm going to attempt to polish it in my little lathe. Should I try to find a die to clean this up or just send back/reorder??? I have to say I'm a bit disappointed...

    Sharpening Drills.....

I have had a different experience with the Drill Dr. I purchased one on sale a couple years back and was quite impressed with it. I did find that if the bit had significant damage (i.e. a chip or gouge) it took quite awhile to correct. The habit I have gotten into is to use a drill a couple of...

I was always a bit partial to the Warlock. Both wonderful machines tho. I can appreciate the new technology, but, there is something about a well tuned V8 ...

    Shop Full Garage Tour!

I notice you place mats over your hoist. I'm presuming its to keep crud from getting in there. Probably a pain to clean out.

    Adding a VFD to a PDM-30 mill

SO, while I'm waiting for parts (not a good thing to sit idle, I come up with bizarre ideas) to put my mill back together I was pondering the advantages/disadvantages of adding a VFD for speed and forward/reverse control on my mill. It is a PMD-30 with a 220v single phase motor. I am...
