    A special note of thanks.....

I had wondered what the best method would be to share with everyone that we have amongst us an incredibly generous and considerate individual. I buy a lot of my machinery and machinist items on eBay and have it shipped to a company in Niagara Falls NY. This company holds everything for me and...

    New Toy - Rahn Repeat - O - Meter

I tested my Brown and Sharpe 20 x 30 cast iron plate. It was indicated + .0002 to - .0003. Moved on to the Taft Pierce 13 x 15 cast iron plate. It indicated + .0002 to - .0002. Both will be scraped and with some luck I will get them under .0001 total flatness. I have a Starrett 24 x 36 and a...

    New Toy - Rahn Repeat - O - Meter

On the Rahn, it came with a .00002 Mahr Surpramess indicator. I have these other 2 indicators as I was planning to scratch build a Repeat-O-Meter. I’m guessing I’ll keep the Millimess but I plan to sell the Supremess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any hand scrapers in Edmonton ?

Hey there..... Derek from Ontario. I too am interested in scraping. I bought a Biax power scraper and a Biax power flaker. I have picked up all the required elements that I think I need but my big issue at this point is that my 24 x 36 inch Starrett surface plate is in need if resurfacing...

    New Toy - Rahn Repeat - O - Meter

Last week I inquired for a friend about a granite surface plate here in Ontario. I asked the typical questions including what grade it was and wether it had been calibrated recently. The owner got back to me, that if I wanted, for a whistle, a song and some bread crumbs he’d throw in this “tool”...

    Pyrex Recommendations?

I found that if you whistle while waiting in the UPS facility (to pass the time) the time it takes to help you and get you out of there is significantly decreased. They will try to tell you the you were to advise the of the intent to self clear, but all I do is ask them to show me how to do so...

    Snowblower recommendation, anyone?

Buy Cheap...... buy Twice. My dad bought a Honda in 1982 and it is still running as well as the day he bought it. I’d say 2 Stage because you don’t have to push it. And the reason you truly have a snowblower makes itself apparent on the 2 days you REALLY need it! I know it will cost you, but...

    Pyrex Recommendations?

UPS always grumbles when I self broker. And I understand because they then need to go and claim back funds from Revenue Canada.... My argument though is that if (in this case) the fee is less than $5, why would I be charged $80? I’m all for a free market, but being “bent over and made to beg for...

    Pyrex Recommendations?

I’m guessing that they used UPS or Fedex. Next time, tell UPS to hold the item and that you are going to “Self Broker”. They will provide you (you are entitled to) the commercial invoice. You go to the Calgary airport and ask to speak with Canada Customs. They will direct you to the office. The...

    looking for stuff....

The last time I shipped to David, good old Canada Post had us both concerned as the package seemed “stuck” in Stoney Creek Ontario, but hopefully that was a “one off” situ. Otherwise, stuff seems to be about a week from me to you. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
