  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. Rust Converters, Fact or Fiction

I have a lot of rusty metal to contend with in the future so, I have been reading lots about the various rust converters and processes. This past few months I started doing experiments. First with EvapoRust, which has been mentioned above and just for fun I put some rusty fittings in a jar of...

What’s your favourite saying- and what does it mean?

The line I probably use most often is "How hard can it be?" Sometimes I'm being really optimistic when I say it. Chris

    VFD Output Filtering

I have a 2465A in working order, but I also have a 2445A that need that U800 chip and a 2430A that has power supply problems. The 2430A could be potential parts if something fails in yours. I don't envision ever trying to do anything with it myself. Also have a 1240 logic analyzer and a bunch of...

I like your pinball machine. They are such fascinating devices. Please post pictures when it is all back together. I have a Gottlieb "Strange World". It was running fine when I put it in a container a few years back. I bought a new set of rubber bumpers for it. They are sitting on top of it...

Taiwan lathe 36 or 40” Chilliwack BC

I have the same lathe. It is 12 x 36, Made in Taiwan. It has served me well. I bought it around 1980. There was some casting sand under the saddle, which I found when I replaced the brass threading drive gear. I share the concern about the missing spindle. However, if it is because of a damaged...

    Hello from Victoria area

Thanks Everyone for the warm welcome. My shop is a long way from the drywall stage. For that you need actual walls. I do have a lot of rebar sticking 12 feet in the air and the footings are in place. It is just under 1000 square ft on the main floor and there is an "L" shaped mezzanine on the...
