this is certainly a project to get back in working condition. classic clone lathe, not too special. decent price if all the bits are there.
 
I’ve asked the seller to post a photo of the nameplate, I’m interested to know the specific size, ask this lathe was made from 10x22 up to 12x36
 
I'm worried about the black hole where the spindle should be. well the very thin shaft to the face plate.

it looks a little dodgey.

I have the same lathe. It is 12 x 36, Made in Taiwan. It has served me well. I bought it around 1980. There was some casting sand under the saddle, which I found when I replaced the brass threading drive gear. I share the concern about the missing spindle. However, if it is because of a damaged gear, it might not be a total loss. I have run mine for many years with a 6 pole ac motor and a variable frequency drive. Since I put that on, I haven't needed to use the gears to get lower speeds. It came with a 6" 3 jaw scroll chuck and an 8" 4 jaw. They thread on.

It has always leaked oil from the spindle bearings. It has oiler cups and those two sight glasses as in the picture.

Not sure it is worth anything if the spindle is not in useable shape.

My similar lathe from that era leaks also. Possibly the picture obscures the threaded spindle. Is your also the 62mm X 8TPI as well?

I did the reverse when we bought this house. They countered our offer with a higher price so I countered with an even lower price that the first offer. They took it. I think they figured they could squeeze me but then we scared the hell of them thinking that we would walk (and we would have).
 
In housing buying is a position of typically much more power than selling. The ability to walk away from a deal changes everything.
