Made a table for vertical sawing on my 4 x 6 bandsaw

Since I have the 7 x 12 Jet bandsaw, I reasoned that I would probably never again be using my little 4 x 6 for horizontal cut-off work. I decided to convert it for strictly vertical cutting. I made guide adapters to take the twist out of the blade, giving me a throat depth of just over 5...

Looking at your guide plate rollers, I was thinking of just using a 608 2RS bearing or similar. Yours aren't just a roller bearing, though. Cam followers!

Made a table for vertical sawing on my 4 x 6 bandsaw

Since I bought my 7" x 12" Jet horizontal bandsaw, my little 4 x 6 has been sitting idle. I decided to make a sturdy table for it so I could do some vertical sawing. I decided that the simplest approach was to use some 1/4" mild steel plate for a base and a table, and some 4" x 4" x 1/4" thick...

    Hydraulic press upgrades

Here are some mods I made to my 20 ton Harbor Freight press: Air/hydraulic jack, table winch, guide rollers, casters, pinned table plates, release knob, grade 8 frame bolts, finger brake, support pin shaft collars. Also, I have found it obnoxious to give up my ability to use my press when it...

Repurposing old rotary table as welding positioner

Here's the finished welding positioner. For a ground I used a spring loaded brass rod riding against the edge of the rotary table on the work side of the bearings. The ground cable is either bolted or clamped to the bracket holding the brass rod. The bracket is insulated from the rest of the...

Repurposing old rotary table as welding positioner

Speaking of wiper motors, here's a piece of trivia. The first Torchmate (a pantograph machine) used modified Ford Granada wiper motors. After selling a couple hundred of these, Grainger gear motors were used. Photo is from a 1980 Chinese newspaper. They were all over this stuff way back...
