    I need a magnifier

My eyesight is good. I don't wear glasses. I've had cataract surgery which gave me great distance vision but I lost the ability to adjust to closeup situations.

    I need a magnifier

I bought my Dbit grinder some time ago and each time I use it I strip down part of it to clean out the old grease, deburr the sharp edges and remove paint from the machined surfaces. Otherwise its not too bad. My latest use for it was to make some dovetails to hold a DTI. I ground a dovetail...

    Determining Steel type….

Years ago I attended a Saturday morning coffee meet. One of the attendees was a retired steel salesman and he brought his ANSI catalogue of steels. The catalogue is about 2 inches thick and includes many many types of steels. If your willing to order in steel mill batch sizes you can get anyone...

It functioned when the jaws were being opened as opposed to when clamping. The fixed jaw was not perpendicular...

    Little drill press

I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. For now I'm still on a path to a 3 phase motor and a VFD. I've been searching for a 3PH 1/2 HP motor that fits my budget. I have found a number of motors but they are 575V. Most of the less expensive VFD's I've sourced are either 120v single PH in and...

    Little drill press

I have a 22 inch drill press but find it kinda large for some of my smaller projects. I use # size drills often. I was talking about getting something smaller. A friend kindly gifted me this 11 inch Canadian made Beaver for which I'm most thankful. I think it had been in storage for awhile and...
