  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. R8/MT3 tooling holder

Found this: Looks like it was designed to work on either a horizontal or vertical surface. They even put dovetails on the sides so you can make it a strip if so desired. Like: the mount is integrated within the holder so you don't need to worry if the head diameter exceeds the size of the...

    R8/MT3 tooling holder

The thing I like about this approach is that you can space/place them anywhere you want to. Are the pass-through holes tapered or straight? I thought there would be products in the market like these but I haven't found any yet (don't the overseas folks make copies of everything?) as I would...

    R8/MT3 tooling holder

Indeed saw that pic previously and liked the clean look. I don't have history with using wood for storing tools so wasn't certain if that was a direction I should head. Also, my assortment of tooling is more like what you have in the upper-left corner e.g drill chucks and facemills and I...

    R8/MT3 tooling holder

I'm embarking on a project to make a tool holder that hold either R8 or MT3-based shaft tooling (separate racks...not uni-sized) I've been scouring the internet and there are some commercial solutions but I find the tool spacing too close as this will be holding a hodge/podge of different tools...

A.C.T. EQUIPMENT SALES Ltd - good machine tool supplier in Calgary

I have also found ACT in Calgary difficult to deal with; placed a few different orders and problematic end-to-end Example 1) was painful to place the order in the first place. I simply needed an ER32 collet chuck nut w/bearing; after several minutes of convincing them that they existed (as I...

OKay...who scooped the Atlas lathe for a song?

Just repeating what the staff standing in the room said; even @ adjusted price it would be a good deal if it came with the accessories, etc. Probably the best deal in the room....Hope it works out well for you. These 'estate' guys are somewhat erratic re: pricing so it wouldn't surprise me if...

OKay...who scooped the Atlas lathe for a song?

There was one of those 'Estate Sales' in Acadia (heritage/fairmount dr) that Brian Lehman auctions puts on every now/then and they had an Atlas lathe listed in the ad. I went by a few hours after the sale started and the lathe was already gone: expected that since an Atlas can be a good unit...
