Tips/Techniques Looking for easy removable thread locker

Some good suggestions here. Maybe look at Loctite 567 as well. It’s essentially liquid Teflon tape.

    Tool N2M engravers ball vice

Can you just make one? Weld up your own T-handle chuck key using four pieces of bar stock to create the 3/16 square then turn the outside to the 3/8 round? I am jealous of the ball vise. I have been wanting to try engraving for a couple of years now. Bought a few books and have done a bit of...

    Visiting China

Until I changed jobs 6 years ago I spent the previous several years travelling all over Asia for work. I would usually be in mainland China about 3x per year. I would say my experience is middle of the two extremes reported here. Yes you needed a business visa which required an invite letter...

    Brazing Cast Iron

Thanks guys for all of the great responses. Especially thank you to the offers to attempt the repair. If you guys weren't so far away I would take you up on that offer. It is the size of the parts that makes this more difficult to me. These do not fit in an oven or bbq. and with the large...

    Brazing Cast Iron

This is not a structural part, just cosmetic. @trlvn I saw that video when you posted it a while back. It is partly what has contributed to my reluctance to attempt this. I think it is worth having the repair attempted vs buying replacements. Just the upper belt cover sold on ebay a couple...

    New (to me) surface grinder

Ya I have been wondering the same thing. Especially considering how deep it is I almost wonder if it was deliberate? made some sort of repetitive task easier? I would love to know what happened there. The pin wrench I have but not the removal tool. Like every machine we acquire, the machine is...

    Brazing Cast Iron

So I have been working on my 10ee the last several months doing the usual repair as needed and clean and paint. I am at the point now where the mechanical parts are pretty well all back together and am starting to shift my focus to the covers/door that up to now have been untouched. I knew...

    New (to me) surface grinder

Thanks. It doesn’t see much use. Mostly just for cultivating and side dressing the sweet corn in the garden. It was the wife’s grandfathers though so it is not going anywhere. Here is the table: It has an eclipse mag chuck on it As you can see there are two v-grooves ground into it...

    New (to me) surface grinder

So move is done and shop is reorganized a bit now with the grinder in roughly what should be it’s living space for now. The move went well. I got there early and pumped out all of the old hydraulic fluid so it wouldn’t spill everywhere when it moved. I picked up a siphon pump at Canadian tire...

    New (to me) surface grinder

Thanks guys. The move is tomorrow morning. The table will be removed. I ended up hiring a local company to do the move. The price was very reasonable as it is all local and more importantly none of my friends could get the time off work on short notice to help. I was not looking forward to...
