    Kijiji searching

I just have the Kijiji app and have certain searches saved like "Lathe" and then it automatically checks once a day and notifies me if anything is new. Probably not nearly as good as that RSS thing, I'm not a technology guy. :P I'll have to look into that.

What keeps me busy (Picture heavy)

With the trench in, it was on to electrical. Got everything installed and up to Canadian Electrical Code, Inspection time! ...Inspection fail? Turns out that even though you're up to (or in places even beyond) the electrical code, you have another hoop to jump through: Epcor owns the power-lines...

What keeps me busy (Picture heavy)

Alright, I thought I'd show you guys why I don't ever seem to post any projects. :p Apologies in advance for the crappy cell-phone photos. Right now I'm working on my garage, getting it up to snuff to use as a shop. When I bought my house the garage had a couple of incandescent bulbs and a...

My 30 years old mill is still pretty straight!

Nice. The backlash eliminator isn't for accuracy though, it's a knob you turn to spread the adjustable brass nuts apart on the fly. It's just so that you can do a climb-milling finishing pass for a better surface finish. Nice DRO! They sure make life easier. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

My 30 years old mill is still pretty straight!

Rough as it may look at first all a lot of old machines need is a little love and adjustment. That's going to be an awesome mill. Do you have a backlash eliminator on it? Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk

"Swirly patterns" haha looks great! I think that pattern is called "engine turned" but I could be wrong. Sent from my B15 using Tapatalk Edit: what color scheme are you going with? Classic machine grey/green or are you going to get creative?

    My generic 4" X 6" horizontal bandsaw

Tsk tsk, John. For Karma points you'd better give that nice little saw to... Oh, I dunno... some young guy who has to do all of his cutting at work or his friend's house perhaps? :P I'm the kind of guy who would typically rather have a 60 year old machine that was built in North America or...

Edmonton Meet ups & local info

Haha I don't trust most of the Journeymen I've worked with to hold a +/- 0.002" tolerance on a manual! (Sadly I'm honestly not joking, they usually can't even do it on an NC) You may have to show me this Phil-trick. :P So far in my apprenticeship I've had Dan Foley, Chris Woods, and Ralph...

Edmonton Meet ups & local info

Just going to tag @skogg in here, since he's new to the site and from Edmonton. I'd be able to meet up sometime this weekend if anyone's interested in grabbing a coffee or a beer. Edit: Also, I haven't taken the intro to machining, but I'll be going into my 4th year of the machining program in...
