Mini Metal Lathe $600 Cowichan Valley BC

Yep. They were branded by several companies lots were sold back in the day. I had a Craftsman branded one. They were built pretty light, but could turn threads, which was nice. 0 MT in the tailstock. Thus the Sherline live centre. Sold mine about 18 months ago for $325.

So a slide hammer was absolutely the way to go. The race wasn't that tight, so it only took some gentle "bumps" vs hammering to get them out. Little at a time and worked like a charm.

    Headstock Bearing Races

I like the dry ice idea! And I know someone that just retired from Lindy, so can likely score a bit for near nothing. And I bet it would also be good for installation too!

    Headstock Bearing Races

I got the new bearings and races for my 1440 rebuild today. Pretty excited as I can now start the headstock assembly. Anyone have suggestions for getting the old races out? And how about the new ones in? I'm thinking threaded rod and a couple of plates and the old races to pull the new ones...

    Touch DRO ESP flashing

Thanks the the one post on the internet that actually worked for getting the ESP32 and TouchDRO working. And I’m glad it will still assist others in getting this functioning. After the one hiccup I had I am pleased with how everything is working.

    Touch DRO ESP flashing

When I first connected my unit to the Accu-rite scales on my mill, every time I changed direction of feed on the X axis the display would jump by 0.500". The Y axis did not do this. I played around for a while, and corresponded back and forth with @slow-poke, but couldn't figure out what was...
