Myford super 7 metal lathe, Pincher Creek, $3000

ILol You guys crack me up! Just like a gaggle of old ladies, all of you persist in debating if any particular piece of machinery advertised on here, or listed on here, is "a good deal", "worth it", "not worth it", etc, along with other disparaging remarks based upon "your opinions". Why is...

    CA-ON McMaster-Carr

Any business that is unwilling to sell / honour the non-business hobbiest, willing to spend hundreds of dollars or more, can stick their ideology where the sun doesn't shine...... I would never, honour such a business with a single dollar, based upon principal alone, period. Nor do care less...

    Boring bars

Thank you guys for your thoughts. It helps. I have never bought from aliexpress or banggood, i guess now is a good time to try them. I didnt realize that CCMT inserts allowed for smaller bore holes than DCMT inserts do. Good to know!

    Boring bars

Guys, I am considering buying a set of small boring bars for use on a ML7. I do not have any currently. Looking on Chronos site and RDG site, i find similar small boring bars. Chronos has their Glanze-branded bars, and RDG bars, look similar, are not branded...

    BSF Screws. Am I screwed?

Rotary broach? Lol. I dont even know what one is. I think i will start by grinding a hss threading tool. Baby steps. I am still in the process of taking parts from the lathe off and cleaning them and ensuring all components are well lubed, adjusted, and running well enough to start making...

    BSF Screws. Am I screwed?

No “aversion” to purchasing online. Not sure where you got that idea from, as I didn’t imply it. If anyone actually had an aversion to purchasing online, in today’s marketplace, then they would have a very narrow repertoire of whatever, to choose from.

    BSF Screws. Am I screwed?

Thanks guys. As a plan b, I thot of turning down a larger screw snd then running the die over it. I didnt consider that a grade 5 screw, if that be the grade, would damage the die, however. Hummm Annealing and re tempering would hardly be worth the effort. Looks like buying online or...

    BSF Screws. Am I screwed?

So the myford needs an allen head 1/4” BSF screw and also a 1/4” BSF Stud. These are to attach / secure the ml7 motor drive pulley cover to the lathe. I have a 1/4” x 26 tap die in BSF. Is there a possibility of running the die over a more common cap screw in metric or NF that would take...

    ML7 drive belt

Found a belt at lordco. Nuttin special about it, it’s just a regular v belt. Works. I need to replace the countershaft to spindle belt next. Think i will try a cog belt. Am told they tend to run a little quieter than a non cog v belt. Will see…..

Machines for sale - Vancouver Island

Lol I kindly asked this seller if he would be willing to sell some or any of the myford tooling / attachments separately. I return, I received a curt, rude reply. How nice….. Without reservation, the seller received an appropriate reply from yours truly. Yep, asshats abound, even in the...

    ML7 drive belt

Guys I am needing a new motor-to-countershaft v belt for an ML7. The original that was on the lathe has swollen from absorbing oil and is now a “thumper”, as it turns. Yes, the original belt was a Fenner belt from the UK, but that part number doesn’t do me much good in victoria. What is...

    Rust Converters, Fact or Fiction

Mike, I did a frame off resto on a truck a few years ago. Stripping the frame to bare metal and painting it took me all summer to do. I used an assortment of tools to strip it. Needle scaler, grinders of various sizes with a couple hundred dollars of disks and such, torch and scrapers, and...

    Tool Which ER32 UM Wrench?

Thank you gents for your advice and help. Much appreciated I had just purchased an Eccentric Engineering er32 chuck, for a myford lathe. Gary, the owner had the same advice as you have said, a single tooth wrench will work just fine. Now I am not sure if the chuck nut that Gary makes has the...
