  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

    Jacobs Super Chuck or clone?

Tht's what I was told many years ago when I asked why a wrench wasn't included with a keyless chuck that had holes: "1) Shouldn't use a wrench to tighten & 2) If the chuck "self-tightened" you can use a wrench to free it – most folks already have a collection of pin wrenches [I do now], so we...

    Spring is Here!

Searching it seems there is no agreement on the origin (or it being “Spring Has Sprung” or “Spring Is Sprung”); Ogden Nash, ee cummings and Spike Milligan (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_Milligan) seem to be the most popular theories. And there are song lyrics...

    Jacobs Super Chuck or clone?

    Hello!

Assuming you mean Ed (or Johnny?): I’ll provide a link. Not many: I’ve met both Daves (@mmcmdl & @Chicken lights) so I know they’re real. You I’m not so sure about . . . I’ll do some research and post a follow-up. Water, tea (hot & iced), coffee: she used to like Jack & Ginger, and would...

    Hello!

Now we're getting into dangerous territory. Purests will say neat (without mixer, water or ice). "Sippin'" Whiskey originally (so I've been told) referred to aged/smooth whiskey as opposed to what comes out of the still (back when many people, including George Washington, made their own)...

    Hello!

Yes, Laphroaig is definitely peaty! While quasi available down here, too rich for one in retirement (although I keep putting my name in on the semi-annual drawings for a chance to purchase).

Ah yes: the one that started (my) argument that "Kentucky" Bourbon could only be made in Kentucky – that was fun!
