New to Calgary, 29 years in BC, now in Calgary about a year. Moved here to be closer to Family.
69 year old male, no formal training (other than High School machine shop), know just enough to be dangerous.
Had a lathe, mill, welders etc. for many years, built a lot of my own equipment (jigs, fixtures tools etc.) for a contracting business we owned for about 35 years. Retired for a few years now.

Apprenticed at GM Transmission Plant in Windsor Ontario as a Tool and Die Maker
Worked as a machinist technician at the University of Calgary Science Workshop.
Retired in May of 2012.

do you know of anyone coming out of Fort Mac with room for a pallet? I bought a small milling machine up there but need to get it south. Even if it is just to Calgary.

Hi, I live near Red Deer. Retired Auto and Heave Duty mechanic. Love tinkering and doing wood working as well have my finger in repairs in metal machinery. Enjoy a good challenge.

I live in Windermere, B.C. An avid woodturner looking to get into metal turning. Did a bit of metal woodturner with neighbour when I was a kid. He was a machinist so did a lot of turning in his basement on his huge metal lathe. Looking to make my own metal bushings etc and add aluminum and stainless details to my wood turnings.

The new asking price, after lowering is 7000$. Will include a 2000$ radius dresser and a bunch of wheels, hubs and a few accessories.

Pretty sure I spotted a fellow member at “the battle of the techs” on day 2 let’s see if I was right.

Finding my way around...

Hi everyone anyone know where I can find a place to forge a blade?

I just joined Hello to everyone Im interested in makeing a Blade for myself and was wondering where I can find a metal shop to do this.

Final moving days, new shop has insulated walls now, time to finish moving the old shop. Must be done before the 1st. Will be a busy couple of weeks.
