Would there be any truth that Canadian engineers would struggle with overpasses?
Who would want an over pass when we could have some traffic circles instead ?We really don't do over passes up here, not like the USA does.
Right. Who wants a steady flow of traffic at a fast pace that efficiently moves vehicles, let's do more traffic circles with pedestrian crossings and vague yield signsWho would want an over pass when we could have some traffic circles instead ?
I showed you an easy go-around to stay off of the Burlington Skyway. I can give you more options to bypass large bridges in my neighbourhood during our next GTHA & Niagara field trip. Keep in mind that one of my careers was building bridges - so I have faith in my fellow engineers- dispute the screw up with the anchors at the Nipigon bridge. That was a cluster f*ck between design/specifications/contractor/inspection. I think it is a fair statement to say that i have installed or supervised the installation of more rock anchors than 99% of other Ontario engineersI don't believe it. Let's ask @CWret.
There are also easy ways to stay off of the Garden City Bridge. Next trip to Niagara i will show you a couple of options.
those are called roundabouts. 😛 🙄Who would want an over pass when we could have some traffic circles instead ?
Well should you find yourself in this predicament again for G's sake don't stop or you'll see just how much they bounce and shake. A squeaky voice will be your least embarrassing reaction. 😛I'll NEVER drive over the bridge between Austria and Italy at the Gros Glockner ever again. That Fkn bridge (over a mountain) gave me a voice change for 2 months. My wife called me a pussy. I don't know how I survived it.......
Years ago I think on “ you asked for it “ they showed just how much bridges were affected by harmonics.
Once death from the fall is eminent, the hight bothers me less, it's the crippling pain filled, survivable, bloody heap on the ground hight that I really dislike .......It is not the harmonics that bother me. It's the raw height. I don't like being more than 8 ft above ground. In fact, sometimes I think I prefer 6 under to 8 over.
