  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Was going to print this bracket.

But it looks like this in the slicer.

@jcdammeyer I drew this in Atom which has never given me a moment's trouble exporting as STL till today.
Any ideas what might be going on here?

I'm also of no help which explains why you've asked for John or maybe Paul.

That reminds of one of the out takes from Shrek where they show donkey turning into a big fuzz ball, totally not what the programmers were expecting.

I exported from Alibre Atom to Fusion where I then exported as an STL.
Opened in Sovol Cura slicer and it looks perfectly normal so it has to be something in Alibre Atom that is not set correctly.

BTW, I think there is likely an export parameter that deals with curves and how they are generated. If drawings curves is switched off or resolution is set with the decimal point in the wrong place then kaboom! Straight lines.

I'm definitely thinking it's an export parameter.
This is what set now.

First of all no problem bringing in the part file and exporting it as an STL. Nice roundy bits.

Mine is set to millimetres rather than design units and 1 degree. I'll change it to 5 and see what happens.

No difference.

Might be worthwhile asking that question on the Alibre Forum. I switched to use design units and that worked too. What did you draw it in? Inches or mm?

Edit: BTW, I measure the inside hole as 95mm

MM always.
I am noticing something odd. After I export to STL, Alibre sits and writes files to disk for ages. No idea what's happening.

I literally have no idea what was going on but I closed Alibre, closed Chrome, restarted my laptop, fired up Alibre, re-exported and boom, no problem.
