The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. WTB *used* 3/4 HP 1725rpm 1Ph 220V frame 56 motor with C flange

Before I head over to princess auto and buy one, I'm curious if anyone has one of these motors laying around. Calgary area or close to it as shipping will kill me.

Here's a pic of one at princess auto:

And before this post devolves into a "why do you need that?" or "why dont you make an adapter for a normal 56 frame" or some other well intentioned advice, I have a specific application for this motor that I'm looking at that is covered in the following thread

I am local to Calgary! So turns out it is a 3 phase 1 Hp motor, but I also have a VFD for it if you want to go that route? Both are brand new and unused. I originally purchased to increase the power of my myford lathe, but I think I'm going to leave it as is and get a bigger lathe at some point in the future. Both the motor and vfd are unused. I think the VFD accepts 120V and puts out 3 phase 220, but I need to double check.

The motor in question:

The VFD *I think* I purchased:

thanks for replying!

I'll keep it in mind, but I'm really looking for a single phase motor. Theres a ton of linked electronics in the machine its going to go into which are all setup for single phase.
