That would explain it then. Pretty much the same mileage over here too, even with the AFM lol. I've had mine 10 years, but thankfully don't daily it anymore. Just keep it around for "truck stuff".
They're awesome at truck stuff. I used mine for hauling dogs when we ran the kennel. That would explain it then. Pretty much the same mileage over here too, even with the AFM lol. I've had mine 10 years, but thankfully don't daily it anymore. Just keep it around for "truck stuff".
I've decided not to take it back to the dealership. Its out of warranty since Sept, so I was used to getting the warranty service stuff done there. I'm going to change the transmission oil tomorrow and I'm ordering the parts to drop the pan and do the transmission filter next week. I'm also trying to get a hold of a small car to put miles on going to work and back. From my experience dealers do not like working on older vehicles. Also dealers are a lot more expensive than private shops.
One thing I would try before you let them try locate the noise is remove the belt then run the engine and see if the noise is still there.
Hi Terry I will try that again today. I put new belts and idler on the truck a couple weeks ago. From my experience dealers do not like working on older vehicles. Also dealers are a lot more expensive than private shops.

This is why I'm actually pretty upset. I have followed all the documented required service for warranty. I can not even guess how many times I have had multipoint inspections. I did have the transmission fluid changed at one time. Several years ago. At the time they did not recommend changing the filter, as in they didn't want to. So at 152000km the oil has only been changed once. I might let my wife deal with gm, she has a much better approach to these things and a lot more patients then I do.Sounds like dealer negligence. The tranny fluid didn't go bad in the last few months which means it should been caught on one the inspections over the last couple of years. Why didn't they pick it up then and let you know then?
You could wait on changing the fluid and try calling GM, explaining the situation and see if that gets any help. Don't know if it will help but you never know. It should be on one of those inspections that the fluid needed changing.
Yes I have my perfect world glasses on but I'm one of those stupid optimistic types.
Fingers crossed it's just the belt.
That shouldn't be a problem normally in my experience but maybe that transmission is different. So at 152000km the oil has only been changed once. I might let my
This is what I thought aswell. With other vehicles no problem. With this transmission Gm put in thermostats that are to high temp like 190f, they have kit to take it down to 160f. I have an active bypass mod coming, it allows flow at all times rather then the stock one, that is recommended for colder climates. I’m hoping to not have to deal with a failure at this point. I should be able to grab the parts tomorrow and hopefully change out the oil and filter in the next couple days. That shouldn't be a problem normally in my experience but maybe that transmission is different.
