Wrench for 5C collet block nut

Amazon delivered the pin wrench I ordered in 2 days rather than the promised four:

Seems to work well. I put the collet block in a soft-jaw vise and pulled the nut as tight as I could. Wrench didn't pop out or feel like it was anywhere close to a breaking point. Seems good to me although a slightly more comfortable handle might be nice. Maybe I should get a can of that plastic stuff that puts a thick layer of grippy stuff on.

Glad it worked out. Actually seeing your picture reminded me of another issue some folks experienced with certain pin wrench models I forgot to mention - they were slightly too wide to clear the end of the block.

Depending on your ambition and priorities, you could always get 2 nice pieces of Walnut or Hickory and make a knife makers handle for it...... Now that would be a cool tool you would leave laying around when your buddies visit!

Look what I found, pictures of my 5C collet block WOOD-O-MATIC. I totally forgot I kludged this thing on the fly. I'm sure it must already be posted. Guess I never got around to making one out of metal.

And I also see my note to self about replacing the sh*tty screw with a dog point didn't fit the R8 slot. So I think I ultimately made one by turning down a set screw

This is way beyond cool to me Peter. I've made the odd tool out of wood too. If it works it works! I always forget about cabinet grade plywood too. Very nice!

I also loved seeing you write a hand note like that too. I don't remember you ever doing anything on the forum without a computer and Fusion. What that tells me is that you are happy with hand writing for yourself, but for us you go an extra mile. Perhaps I'm reading too much into that, but I think not. (Insert huge happy Susquatch smile here) You are a good man Peter.
