Rumor has it that this gear reducer was used on a very large commercial door opener. It has a reduction ratio of 54:1. The motor mount is an integral part of the casting. Very smooth operation with little backlash. I used it with a variable speed DC motor to wind magnetic coils for a piece of oilfield equipment. That project has ended and I am trying to clean up my shop. A bargain at $100, but you have to get it out of my basement. It weighs 100 lbs. Steel rule shown is 24 inches long. Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here!
