Now that the new lathe is functional it's time to sell off my South Bend 9a, 1940's model 3ft bed

c/w 3 jaw, 4 jaw, face plate, steady rest, live center, dead centers, keyed chuck, keyless chuck, lantern tool post, quick change tool post + holders, lots of hss tool bits, wood turning tool post, lathe dogs

1/3hp motor, non original motor pulley/countershaft pulley, serp drive belt, everything works, no broken gear teeth, c/w work bench, left most backgear cover where the reverse switch is located is broken, could be brazed back together as everything is still there...that Is how I bought it

Man that's a real nice unit well equipped wish I was closer I'd love own a lathe like that same as the lathe we had back at work in Regina.
Someone is going to have fun with this new toy.

I am sure that the Calgary boys will jump in shortly, but here in B.C., you would likely get $2500-3000 for it because it has a pretty good selection of tooling with it. If mine, I would be asking $3000, and holding out for $2500.

Considering its the 9A with QCGB in apparently pretty good shape with lots of desirable accessories, in Ontario's market I would echo @140mower and say $2500 to $3000 if you are not in a hurry to get rid of it. Maybe lower if you want it to move fast.

I'd ask higher considering this fellow is asking 3500 for this POS:
