What to do in London

My wife is going to force me to go with her to Loop London -- Loop Knitting. A store full of wool. I tell her it's a baaaaaaaaad idea and she just thinks I'm making sheep sounds.

So if she gets to go to a wool shop where can I go that's metal oriented. Already seen the museum with the giant steam engine. Any other suggestions? Small foundry or foundry supply shops? Metal supply shops?

England or Ontario?

Science Museum. Budget one whole day. If your wife is bored with your use of the day, like mine was, bribery with a decent South Kensington restaurant is fair game.

Food in the UK is HORRIBLE. From Haggis to boiled meat. All yuk. Real food is on the other side of the channel.

Yup, the UK imported all their good food. Why do you think they bothered with “Empire”? Chicken tikka Masala for example. T’aint an Indian dish. Tis British!

Joking aside, there’s a lot of very nice restaurants in London.

What IS that?

It's bad chicken too charred to eat the way it is, covered in a billion spices and sauces guaranteed to ensure it doesn't taste at all like chicken. Might as well be the popes nose or a gizzard by the time that recipe is done with it.

If you like recipes like that, just buy an old boot, boil it in heavy spices, then trash the boot and eat the sauce like soup.

Wait, what? You are going to travel ~5,000 miles to get to London and can't take a ~150 mile side trip? And Stonehenge is on the way!
Stonehenge is boring now. So popular you can't get close to it. Not like the old days... Somewhere I have a picture from 1977 with me leaning on one of the stones. (And no, I didn't push it over).
