What is the best thing to clean Carb’s with a ultrasonic cleaner

I’ve bought a 6 litre ultrasonic cleaner from Vevor to clean a carb for a lawnmower but so far have only seen the spray version of carb cleaners so I’m asking what everyone else is using.

Pinesol works well, as does simple green.
A tip that I use, is to put the carburetor and as much solution as needed into a freezer bag, (a glass jar is better if you have one that fits the bill) to cover the part and eliminate as much air as possible. Then fill the cleaner with hot water. I pour the solution into a mason jar afterwards for later use and drain the tank down the laundry sink drain, as it is straight water.

I hadn't noticed it to be much different than pinesol, now that purple power cleaner definitely messes with the finish, but I have had success with it when other cleaners didn't work. But the result was an ugly carb on a running lawnmower that otherwise would be garbage to most people. I wouldn't do that for the carburetor on the motorcycle I was restoring or anything though.....

Yes I've heard that Purple Power is pretty aggressive

I've used simple green, pinesol or spray-nine, similar results. The ultrasonic batch doesn't eliminate going through all passages/jets manually imho.

Same as what Don posted. I use simple green, works good. At work I would put parts in simple green in bags and then use distilled water in the ultra sound. That way your not wasting to much cleaning fluid. At home same I just use a measuring cup instead of bags to hold the parts. Usually not doing entire carbs tho.

Remember to wash and dry cleaned parts and then oil them right away or exposed steel parts can flash rust.
