  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Matt,

We do have many excellent specialists here.

FWIW, a very good friend of mine was diagnosed with a nasty brain tumour and was told there was nothing they could do, you. have about 3 months. He went to Mayo for a second opinion and they told hime yes 3 months if you do nothing, however the absolute best leading edge specialist for your type of tumour works in Saskatchewan. Met with that specialist days later, operated within a day or two and my buddy is alive and well that was > 10 years ago.

Ask every question as you proceed.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yup, Teflon vocal cords. Goes along with the Bluetooth pacemaker and the bolts, nuts, and rods that hold her spine together. We live in amazing times. And none of this has any impact on SWMBO’s ability to keep me in line.
That's kinda neat! Wouldn'a considered replacement vocal chords a thing, really. Learn new things, see new opportunities, eh?

Got some hardware in my lower back, from a fusion done back in 2008, had two surgeries on my right Knee to pull out floaters and flapping bits of cartilage, and (thanks to an extremely stupid, low speed motorcycle crash, seriously less than five miles per hour speeds involved), and the subsequent Tibia Plateau Fracture, on my left knee, the first thing the Doc said when I came up from the anesthetics was "Based on what I saw while I was in there, you will be back soon enough!". Great...

Don't wish this stuff on anyone, but am thankful as hells that it is actually available, and even more so, that we do not see people having to sell or mortgage their homes to access the stuff.

I'll reiterate the opinion I already posted. Dead people don't need shop space. So, if ya wanna be out in the shop, ya gotta watch the health!
