Tips/Techniques What are you printing today?

Tips/Techniques
I used to have a yellow spool of PLA that was cursed like that. Looking back on it now it was most likely moisture related causing the brittleness as I never used to dry anything. Frustrating getting halfway through a print, and having it fail though......

This was as it loaded the filament so no loss for the print. True the AMS had reached 30% so after it was repaired and before I printed I dried all the silica beads. Put them back into their little chambers and back into the AMS. Then there was still the broken piece so everything had to come out again. That's why it took about 2 hours before I could restart the print.

Toe Clamps.
I've only printed one set at 15% infill. Now in process is a set with 50% infill. Looks like I could melt a 1/4" nut into the bottom and 1/2" bolts do fit but 6mm might be a better fit for the nut and bolt.

I'm seeing a use for these as a method of holding plywood that has metal screwed to it. Plywood is cheaper than sacrificial metal.

I’d like to try those John. Got a link or is it your model?

Took a gamble today and printed another hex bit holder.

It was a gamble because of this...

I started printing one the same depth (5 rows) as my other one, but shortened it to 4. I should have gone with 3 though to make it more accessible.

Now I need to design something that takes about 24.5 grams lol

Ya It would. I just don't have another roll of black petg.... it can also switch automatically if there's another same roll in the ams

Edit: I was actually kinda hoping it would run out before puting the top layers on so I could switch to the clear PETG I had loaded. I think that would look pretty neat. I should do a trial to see how that looks.

I'm guess the answer is yes- if your part is 2 inches high, could you program it to stop at 1 inch to let you change colours?

And it would have no problem restarting now that the bottom half has cooled off?
