  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Don’t be shy, sign up and come, or plan your own meetup!

Ran across this today in my FB feed.
Could be a good alternative to Send-Cut-Send for folks.
No experience with them.

I wonder how the laser cutting compares with the water jet cutting?
Laser is going to have better precision because the beam is smaller than the water jet. Smaller, more intricate designs are more suited to laser.
I also think the cost of laser will be lower as there is less processing as water jet requires processing of the water and abrasive.

In 2020, when I had my welding table top cut of the same material, without holes, it was $185 from Victoria Waterjet. A few weeks back I got a quote from them for a 2’x3’ x 3/8” top with 20mm holes. It was only $325. Considering the increase in material costs I thought that was quite reasonable.

How would that compare with SendCutSend I wonder?
