If buying a Bridgeport you can purchase a single phase motor from H&W machine to convert it over. Wonder if this capability exists for this Modern mill?
 
These Russians are pretty slimey
I went to go take a look at some milling vises, He said he had tons on the phone, I arrived - showed me the last one he had, Said he had 50.
So 49 sold in 3 hrs?
It was a 10 inch kurt clone, And the rear jaw back broken out, It was repaired with a hunk of metal milled into the jaw and cap screwed in. Some shotty workmanship to say the least. 100% not square to the vise.
Take it now he says, only 350$
I thanked him in Russian and laughed my way out of his shop.

Buyer beware. Why is the power not connected? They do not have 240v 3ph in the shop? I would think you could check it under power in a re-seller shop

As usual buyer beware but that missing plug feels like they do not want you to run it at full speed - maybe bearings are shot. Ask to run it under power.

Anyone can be slimy - not just Stan - Modern as well. Everyone.

Owners name is Yuri, I am sure you can barrow some 240v for a minute lol
Thats what these folks do, Buy cheap and flip. They have a bedway grinder that was converted from a large planer or shaper and attached some grinding stones, If in doubt go apply to their current job posting. lol
 
I went out to Nisku today and had a look at this mill. It is an interesting machine in that it has quite a small chassis like PeterT's 935 but has a 9 X 49 table. The machine is in very nice-near new condition. I can see no wear on the ways and the head is super quiet and smooth. It needs a good cleaning but seems ready to go other than that. If I was looking for a fairly compact knee mill I would already have it in my shop. It looks very tiny compared to the other machine in their shop, I drooled over a 16000 lb radial arm drill press, dirt cheap but it would surely collapse my garage floor plus it is about 12 feet tall.
