Tractor parts-looking for a source

Upnorth

Super User
After a few years of successful running the Massey Ferguson 245 I rescued from going to the scrap yard after it caught fire has decided to start springing fuel and coolant leaks. Can anyone recommend a good place to source new radiator hoses and a reseal kit for a CAV fuel injection pump? Also can anyone can recommend a good tractor salvage yard? I'm looking for the section of the hood that the instruments and battery goes in. The original was damaged in the fire and the battery melting and spraying acid. I just repainted the original as a temporary solution. The tractor runs so good I'm pretty sure that it will outlast me and is worth spending a little more maintenance money on.

Lots of places online to buy CAV pump parts. I bought some through some individual in Macedonia because it looked like the best deal. I had no complaints. I've seen them available on Amazon, Ebay andni think AliExpress.

Where is your pump leaking from? Are you doing a complete rebuild or just a top cover reseal?
Just a top cover reseal and the little thing that looks like a cover plate on the bottom piece. I doubt the gaskets and seals have ever been changed. The tractor came with the original fuel filter or if replaced they repainted it with the same paint as the engine. Point is some of the maintenance was neglected.

I'm trying to avoid ebay and amazon. I'm trying to find a place where people know their stuff about tractors. I have had very mixed results buying parts of amazon.

There also tractor wrecking yards all over the place in rural areas of Canada and the USA. Not as many as car and truck wrecking yards, nor as obvious. But they are out there. You just have to go looking.

I can look digitally for those but there are none in my part of Canada that I can find.

Yup, Fawcett is one of the places I was referring to in my first post on this thread. Awesome place. It's everything a car and truck junk yard should be, but isn't!

Where is your part of Canada? It might help people offering suggestions. Even a general area. Are we talking Inuvik, Whitehorse, Thunderbay, Goosebay…?
“Upnorth” doesn’t narrow it down much.
