Toys in the attic

Visiting with the folks and found this tucked away in a corner...... I need to make a fuel tray for it and a bit of cleaning before I get to play with it. It comes with a little lineshaft, pedestal grinder, and a table saw of sorts.....

The saw is still in the original box. :D

Very interesting, nice find. Can't access my attic, never cut the hole in the ceiling so all my treasures are in the basement. Last week i found 7 lbs of powder in the floor joists. It was there for 20 years at least.

As long as fuse wasn't in it you're good.

Neat! That's an oldie eh? We've got the same pedestal grinder for a Wilsco engine that gets pulled out every once in a while.
The steam engines toys were targeted for young boys in the advertising but I think the old "boys" in the house got more fun out of them then the young ones did.

I still have my steam engine as well, got it as a Christmas present when I was about ten. I'd lost the stack off of it long ago, but found I could get replacement parts from Wilesco, so ordered it and a few other washers and bits. I've only run it a couple times since cleaning it up. It's sitting on the window ledge here in my office. I never had any accessories to run with it.

I'm not sure how old it is, but you are probably correct, there's likely to be a 6'4" "kid" of slightly older vintage chuckling and giggling while trying to set the house on fire while squeezing the last bit of steam out of it. :p:rolleyes:
Now if I could only find the lawn darts, now that I am bigger and older I am pretty sure that I can throw then higher than when I was younger...o_O
