Touch DRO ESP flashing

Thought I would start a thread on the Touch DRO so we have a way to centralize information. I understand there are a few others that are going the TouchDRO route with the board designed by @slow-poke.

It took a long time for me to figure out how to flash the ESP chip. I am not a programmer and there was lots of bad information on the net.

Here is a link to the instructions that worked for me (top post) : https://www.hobby-machinist.com/threads/esp32-upload-issues-solved.103007/

When I first connected my unit to the Accu-rite scales on my mill, every time I changed direction of feed on the X axis the display would jump by 0.500". The Y axis did not do this. I played around for a while, and corresponded back and forth with @slow-poke, but couldn't figure out what was going on. I finally posted on H-M, and Yuri suggested creating a new configuration and that fixed the problem. I can't say what the issue was, only that the new config solved it.

Something to keep in mind.

Thanks for posting Tom. That's my post on hm before I joined here. I pretty much forgot about it. I will keep it in mind that a new config can fix problems with the scales. I would never have thought about that. I was looking through my files and I have been working on a touchdro since 2016. lol. I still have the one built off the arduino nano. One day I will get it working, promise. Time seems to be passing really quick these days.

Thanks the the one post on the internet that actually worked for getting the ESP32 and TouchDRO working. And I’m glad it will still assist others in getting this functioning. After the one hiccup I had I am pleased with how everything is working.
