Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. But all the commercial/light industrial in Langford seems to be 208.

It seems at first blush to be a good unit with lots of bits included but it is an oddball. Too big for hobbyists especially power wise and there isn't a lot of industry near by. It seems like it should go for under 2k and be a screaming deal for the one person that wants it.
But what do I know ?

I have seen several instances of 575V equipment nearby recently, but for most of us that would imply a motor replacement. But I think I also saw a 600 to 200 (208??) transformer advertised, and an wondering if that could be made to work in these cases, or if it's a bit outside the range of the fudge factor? (Not that I need or have room for any of that stuff!)

Yeah, coulda been. But like I said, no need, no room!
In any case, I'm not certain if 240V (what I see in my neighborhood) to 600V+ would be beyond the range of the 575V specified without significant adjustments. Don't think I'd want to try removing turns in that transformer, and some intermediate one to drop 240 to closer to 200 (or something at the other end, which could use smaller wire?) adds complexity/cost/hassle.
