  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. I figure the gearbox alone, would recover all the costs and make a profit, if flipped.

Kinda hard to go wrong, even if it turns out to be badly worn, and you just part it out.
 
I have thrown a wildcard at it and will see if it is meant to be.... The gear boxes are quite different between the metric ones and the imperial, that seems to make some think they are worth more because there's fewer of them, but unless you have the leadscrew, and halfnuts you don't have much. Won't cut either by way of the charts if you try and mix match it.

What's the going rate on a SB gearbox? On a Myford, the basic gearbox is worth around a G-Note...

I don't know what they are worth, but I have watched the same one for 650 for a long time a while back. I thought that was too much at the time and apparently so did everyone else...... I have to confess I am not much of a salesman and I tend to undervalue stuff......
