I'm looking to source some C1040/1045 flat bar in 2"x 1 1/4" (or larger). I've called around several larger stockholders in the lower mainland and have come up empty. Other than McMaster-carr, where do people go for smaller quantities, i.e. 10pcs saw cut to 8.5".

Metal Mart in Langley indicates they sell C 1045, not sure about size. Haven't bought from them before but they seemed not bad and had realistic pricing. Cutting etc available.
Ooops, they closed Langley but are in Port Kells.

Send cut send? Stock costs alone often justfy the overall cost.

I went with 2 3/8" round stock from McMaster-carr. There was a couple of local options for 3" round stock, although the 2 3/8" was delivered next-day for less than the 3" would have cost even before saw cutting and local pick-up/delivery. Then there's the cost of removing the additional/neccicary material to factor.

Maybe try hitting up the local fabrication or machine shops. Most are ok with tacking on some extra on their next order. For materials like C1040, you're probably better off checking machine shops.
