Which resin should I use with it, at least to begin with? The choices appear to break down as: "Standard", "ABS-like" - each in a choice of alcohol- or water-washable - and "Tough".

Interesting to note that I have a reasonable stock of pure-enough ethanol, as the only thing I ever buy duty-free when coming back from the US is the biggest, cheapest bottle of Everclear (or equivalent) they carry. Handy for so many things, including (it turns out) this. I don't bother buying isopropanol anymore.

For my brief foray into resin printing I used water washable resin because it has much lower VOCs and I didn't want to fuss with IPA for cleanup.
That said I had a miserable time with resin printing. I'd estimate a <1% success rate so I sold the whole setup earlier the year.
Never again.

What kind of things were you trying to make, and what went wrong?

My kid wanted to print minis for roleplay games.
Lack of adhesion to the build plate was the primary issue. I did everything recommended; warmed the resin, calibrated till I was blue in the face and no luck.
I know some people have very good luck but my experience was pretty awful.
Elegoo Saturn by the way.

Well, generally "yes", but in regard to what, specifically? Ultra-cheap Elegoo, or abundance of ethanol, or "other"?

The generally accepted term for expressing jealousy here is to say "You suck"

Sadly I don't have all the graphics with couches and signs poking up that say "You suck" like everyone else seems to have.

I keep telling my wife that if I can have one of these printers I can make her moulds for casting silver jewelry but she counters with "you dont even use your other printer"

Let's just say I don't quite suck yet. I bought it sight-unseen, it doesn't have a ps brick (though I should have a 12V @5A lying about, if what I read is correct) or any accessories, and wasn't cleaned after last use. So for all I know at the moment, it might not even be a good organ donor. I'll be picking it up some time this week.
