I'm not familiar with the cost of RPC's so I don't know if this is a deal but they don't come up ofteh.

That's a good price. New is $1600USD so approx. $2200CAD plus shipping which would be expensive.

That's a big unit for a home shop! In principle, a RPC can probably run well below its rated capacity, but there will be an in-rush current on the idler to consider. I'd start with a 40A single phase, 220 feeder, but that's just spit-ballin'. Inevitably, with that much capacity one would start to push the envelope. Who amongst us could resist? At the very least, I'd want to be sure my single phase input capacity can get that beast started. Unlike home-brew units with a belt run spinner on the idler, these use a set of caps on the third leg to spin up.

Also, I would never buy a RPC without hearing it run -- they can be loud and annoying, like mine (Rotophase, rebranded as Delta, 3 HP) or not. Finally, there are a number of mid-sized RPCs on lower mainland marketplace at the moment, for well under $1000. Probably $3 -5 hundred would get one of those, but typically they are home-brew or noisy units at that price.
