  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. I see by the picture that this table can also be used to machine circles that are not in line with the centre of axis. Wonder how you do that?

Just in case you are serious, the table center doesn't need to be on the spindle center line.

I was joking in the fact that they are asking $645 for a damaged rotary table.

But I was serious on not understanding how they were able to generate such a nice circle on the table that does not share the same centre as the table. The table cannot have two centres of rotation. Only way I can think to make that circle would be to do like @Darren says and mount it on another table, with the centre axis of that table centred on the circle created, or use a boring bar or large face mill. All of which are a lot of work to go through to damage a rotary table. That they want $645 for. Although they do note it is in "good condition".

That will teach me not to comment without looking at the add. Now I see what you were talking about.

I bet that was done with one of those old face mills. It smells of pecker tracks and a machinist that fell asleep or was too busy watching the boss's daughter.
 
I was thinking it might have been a boring head with a triangular insert in the bar..... And I reckon you are spot on as far as the chain of events leading up to the custom machining that created a mastercraft conversation starter....:rolleyes:
