  • Several Regions have held meetups already, but others are being planned or are evaluating the interest. The Ontario GTA West area meetup is planned for Saturday April 26th at Greasemonkeys shop in Aylmer Ontario. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet, click here! Arbutus has also explored interest in a Fraser Valley meetup but it seems members either missed his thread or had other plans. Let him know if you are interested in a meetup later in the year by posting here! Slowpoke is trying to pull together an Ottawa area meetup later this summer. No date has been selected yet, so let him know if you are interested here! We are not aware of any other meetups being planned this year. If you are interested in doing something in your area, let everyone know and make it happen! Meetups are a great way to make new machining friends and get hands on help in your area. Hi Guys,
Just got a new King PDM-30 milling machine to start learning milling in my garage. I am not looking to make my life out of it ;), I work in an audio/video high-end shop.
I like working with metal, this milling stuff is all new to me, hope it become my next best hobby :)

Welcome from SW Ontario.

Once upon a time one of my hobbies was A/V. Then I lost my HFreq hearing. Mills make enough Low Freq noises to keep me happy.....

You will like it here!

Welcome from Vancouver! I actually just sold all of my MIDI music gear to pay for my now heavily-modded RF30 mill, so be very, very careful about picking up machining as a hobby. It might eclipse all others.

welcome Ricky.

Welcome. The forum demands pics of your mill. Also gonna give you six months before you get a lathe. Oh just one question, do you have a bandsaw? If so good to go. If not that’s likely your next need to have.

This is a great group. It has been a lot of help as i ventured deeper into metal working.
Enjoy and welcome aboard.

Welcome from Ottawa. This is a really fun hobby. I started with a LC-30 mill and did countless upgrades, it served me well.
