Balls screws, Near zero backlash, and when you climb-cut it rips the handle out of your hand and climbs up on those smoooth ball-screws. lol
Although I am sure you can mitigate that issue by nipping up the gibs a wee bit

That's a very good point. I suppose its a function of pitch but I suspect most ballscrews are coarser pitch than average manual machine lead screws so more prone to runaway freight train.
