Replacement of lead screw on Atlas 618 Lathe with 1/4-20 acme

If it wasnt clear, your assumption was right, as long as the pitch is the same your feedrates will be what they were, and match the tag.
 
A glance at their chart told me they dont make 1/2" with 0.05" lead but they do make a 3/8" 20
I didn't even bother to check myself, so good catch.

Ebay, predominantly used

I thought there was some specialty seller of new replacement parts but must be mixed up with another
 
Finding acme 1/2-20 threaded rod is non existent to repair/replace an Atlas 618 lead screw.

Have you triple-checked the threads per inch? I no longer have a 618 but 20 sounds wrong. Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything definitive.
