Repairing a Coil Spring ?

Thanks for the link to the spring tempering.

I really don’t know what TIG welding did to the spring in terms of its specs. Visually observing it under compression (it’s design) it looks like it is deforming uniformly.

If it fails, the only thing that happens, the handle will not return to the upright position. The load on the pallet jack will stay where it is as it is held by trapped hydraulic fluid. That fact was one of the main reasons I even attempted a repair.
